Udachi & Jubilee Paypur EP

New EP from Udachi & Jubilee - big bass bizness. We've been caning paypur - heavy, heavy tune. The video for Smoke Rings, another track on the ep, is genius so here it is for your enjoyment and there's a clip of paypur on the end. Check it out.

Smalltown Romeo Ursula 1000 remix

So in honour of Rob (Ca)Nuck's fellow countrymen the Smalltown DJs here's their remix of Ursula 1000. Big vocodor nonsense, some cowbell, funky ass bassline - great stuff as ever.

Reese - Just another chance

Bass. Probably don't need to say much more than that. As influential on jungle as probably any other record (even amen brother). The production on this still sounds great today, that bass sound so distinctive that it even has it's own name. Still sounding so big and this is from 1988.

Nextmen - Join the dots

SO the new Nextmen album is out and mighty fine it is too. If you go and enter your email address on their site you can download a new mix too which showcases a few bits from the album.

Favourites of ours from the album are the title track opener, the single Lion's den and Stay at home. Expect to hear some of these and more on the show in the upcoming weeks.

Zinc feat Aloe Blaac- all your base

Big tune from Zinc that was part of the rinse fm 15 years giveaway, check out the tunes from Roska and Geeneus too. You know how Zinc does things, he's got his own sound, gets some help from Aloe Blacc on this one. And it's an aiff too.

La Roux - Tigerlily B Rich Remix

Taken from Palms Out Sounds

Nice fresh remix of La Roux's Tigerlily by B Rich. Starts out not far from the original before breaking out some heavy dubstep style bass wobble. Looking forward to dropping this one.

Tune of the Day/Week/Month - Major Lazer When you hear the bassline

We're going to try and put up a different tune each day* on the blog which will stay up for download until the next one comes along. It'll cover lots of different stuff past, present and future, old classics and new bangers.

First up a track from the Major Lazer album. When you hear the bassline features ms thing and it bangs. Minimal backing, big bassline, ragga, vocoder what's not to love? Like all the major lazer stuff it's big dumb fun and goes off. Go buy the album you won't regret it.

Madox Duckalicious Baobinga Remix

Baobinga's Thugalicious remix of Madox that was on the Freq Nasty fabric live mix.
Heavy remix, starts out nice and sparse and then breaks out the squelch and the thug samples.

This will be getting some airings on the show.

Alex Metric - Head straight ep

So the new Alex Metric ep is out now and it's ace. Played two tracks from it on the show last week and they'll be getting aired plenty for a while.

The track that's doing the rounds on the blogs is the radio edit of head straight (download here) which I think is actually the weakest track on the ep. Shirley you can't be serious is a more minimal tech house thing for the most part. What now is the pick of the bunch for me though starting out fairly minimal before going reet mental...

PANTyRAID mix from Mary Anne Hobbs

So the PANTyRAID single is ready to drop at the end of June and it's big! Sounds like the album is going to be heavy. Ooah and Marty Party collaborating on this one, more dubstep than the glitch mob stuff so more bass and a slightly electro feel to it.

PANTyRAID mix on Mary Anne Hobbs (original link from A shaving of the horn that speared you)

Tracklist:

Upset / Beba Mashup (with Lil John Acapella)
Crunkalicious
Worship the Sun
Headcase (with Ray Cash ‘Sex Appeal’ Acapella)
Enter The Machine

Also check out the Adam Freeland remix which is out now.

TV on the radio - Red dress (Glitch Mob remix)

We're both loving the glitch mob stuff at the moment and TVOTR are cool too so we were looking forward to this. If you like the glitch mob you'll love it, if you don't like them you probably won't, it's not really doing anything they haven't done before but if it's not broke...

Adam Buxton's Out of focus group

Went along to see Adam Buxton hosting his out of focus group at the BFI on Friday. It was a mixture of stand up, videos and music. The poetry of Kevin Eldon's Paul Hamilton was particularly good and the young knives were a great suprise. Adam also showed a film he was in called little face which was really good and randomnly filmed two minutes down the road.

Adam as famous guy -

Australia from song wars -

Snoop Dogg & Chase and Status

So can't make my mind up whether I think this is great or rubbish.

Straight from the Mad Decent blog.
